Frogs, Toads, Salamanders and Newts

Overview
Amphibians have skin that is soft, moist, without scales and permeable to water to help them to stay moist. Amphibian juveniles are mostly aquatic, living in the water and breathing through gills. As they develop into adults they begin to breathe with lungs and live on land, although they still need water to survive. Frogs are the only amphibians found naturally in Australia including the Green Tree frog and Corroboree frog.
