WE'VE BEEN WATCHING WHALES FOR DECADES! NOW YOU CAN JOIN US!

Whale Watch

Sea World, in partnership with Whale Watch Australia, have launched their all new attraction Sea World Whale Watch with a champagne blessing on Thursday, 5 June 2008.

In line with World Environment Day (5 June) the new boat will minimise impacts on the environment with a custom keel design that protects whales from harm, engines that exceed international emission standards and produce minimal underwater noise. The on-board toilet and grey water waste is also never allowed to pollute the ocean.

Between 8,000 and 10,000 whales migrate each year along the coast of Eastern Australia and the best time to see them is from May to November. Commencing June 14, the new attraction will deliver a unique experience that combines both education and entertainment with the awe-inspiring natural experience of getting up close and personal with one of the world’s largest marine mammals.

Breathtaking. Fascinating. Enchanting. Their size, speed, elegance and intelligence has captivated us for decades. Now it’s your turn to be enchanted by one of the world’s most endearing creatures with Sea World’s all new Whale Watching tour.

The $3.4M customed designed luxury catamaran will comfortably carry in excess of 100 passengers and will operate twice daily (weather permitting) from the new Sea World Whale Watch Terminal, from June to November during the annual Humpback Whale migration past the Gold Coast.

The Sea World Research and Rescue Foundation, which conducts internationally recognised research studies, promotes marine education and rescues Humpback Whales which have become stranded or entrapped in nets.
