SHARKWATER STAR COMES FACE TO FACE WITH SEA WORLD'S CREATURES OF THE DEEP!
Sharkwater star, Rob Stewart visited Sea World this month to promote his film and raise awareness on over-fishing of sharks. While at Sea World he also became one of the only people to ever dive without any protective gear in Shark Bay’s predator lagoon.
Rob Stewart directed, produced and starred in Sharkwater – an amazing film which exposes the exploitation and corruption surrounding the world's shark populations in the marine reserves of Cocos Island, Costa Rica and the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador.
Director of Sea World Marine Sciences, Trevor Long said that he was excited to have Rob visit Shark Bay and join the fight to protect sharks.
"Shark populations around the world are being affected because of developing countries insatiable appetite for fin”.
“Any fishing of large sharks is unsustainable as these animals mature late in their lifecycle, and have low reproductive rates” he said.
Sharkwater opened in cinemas 15 May 2008.
