Animal Adventures

Overview

Between the high and low tide marks lies a strip of shoreline that is regularly covered and uncovered by the advance and retreat of the tides. This meeting ground between land and sea is called the Inter-tidal.

The Shallow Reef and Ray Adventure is designed for guests aged five to nine years of age inclusive and a minimum height of 110 cm to experience the Shark Bay Inter-tidal Pool. The children are given an educational talk and will experience a shallow water encounter with the tidal pool inhabitants including clown fish, anemones, rays and sea stars. Program duration is approximately 20 minutes.

And the best news is, because Shark Bay replicates a natural tropical environment the lagoons are heated during the cooler months offering warm waters all year round!

Participants are supplied with booties, a mask and a flotation vest.

The cost is $25.00* per person.

Shallow Reef and Ray Adventure programs are available 7 days a week and have approximately three participants per program.

The Nikon Indy 300 will take place on the Gold Coast 23 – 26 October 2008. You may experience traffic delays on your route to Sea World due to this event so please allow additional travelling time to ensure you are on time for your Animal Adventures program.

CRITERIA FOR PARTICIPATION

• Participants must be aged five to nine years of age inclusive and a minimum of 110 cm in height. Children will be measured on the day of participation. If the child does not meet the height restriction they will not be able to participate and will not be eligible for a refund.
• Participants must be able to speak and/or understand English.
• Participants must have controlled motor movement.
• Participants must follow directions quickly to the satisfaction of staff.
• Participants must be able to quickly exit the pool area unassisted.
• Participants must not have any open cuts or infections.
• Guests with disabilities are asked to call Customer Connect on 13 33 86 to determine suitability to participate in the Animal Adventures programs. Please note a limited number of special needs programs are available for people with disabilities that otherwise prohibit them from participating.
